Creating lasting value through smarter operations

April 10, 2026

A leading Nordic brand house within competitive consumer goods partnered with Mantec to strengthen its operational foundation. The objective was to improve efficiency, clarify responsibilities and build a stronger management structure capable of supporting long-term growth and profitability.

Background

The client operates in a highly competitive consumer goods environment where long-term success depends on an efficient, scalable and well-coordinated supply chain.

Following the launch of ambitious financial targets and a new growth strategy, management recognised that the existing operational setup needed to evolve in order to support the company’s future ambitions.

Several challenges had gradually emerged within the organisation. Processes across operations were fragmented, roles and responsibilities were not always clearly defined, and resource utilisation could be improved. In addition, management follow-up varied between organisational levels, making it harder to ensure consistent execution.

To support future growth, the company initiated a structured transformation programme aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, alignment and performance management.

Analysis

The initiative began with a structured analysis phase focused on identifying operational bottlenecks, improvement opportunities and untapped performance potential.

Through workshops, process reviews and management discussions, the project team analysed how work moved through the organisation and how decisions were made across operational levels. Particular attention was given to process flows, planning practices and management routines.

The analysis highlighted opportunities to streamline workflows, improve coordination across functions and strengthen management structures to support more consistent follow-up and decision-making.

Based on these insights, a comprehensive development and implementation programme was designed and executed over several months.

Implementation

The implementation phase focused on strengthening three key areas within operations.

  • Process improvements
Core workflows were reviewed and streamlined to reduce inefficiencies and improve end-to-end operational performance.
  • Planning and resource utilisation
Planning capabilities were strengthened to ensure better use of capacity, people and resources across the organisation.
  • Management operating system
A structured management model was introduced, including clear meeting routines, defined roles and responsibilities, and consistent follow-up methods across all organisational levels.

The overall objective was to improve ways of working through more standardised processes, stronger leadership structures and clearer performance management.

The approach combined hands-on operational support with leadership coaching. This ensured that improvements were not only implemented but also embedded in daily operations.

Employees at all levels were supported, challenged and guided to adopt new tools, methods and behaviours. This created strong ownership of the changes and built internal capabilities to sustain improvements beyond the project timeline.

Results

The project delivered clear and measurable improvements while strengthening the organisation’s ability to drive operational excellence independently going forward.

Key results included:

  • Increased operational efficiency, directly supporting profitability and growth ambitions
  • A structured meeting and governance model, creating transparency and alignment across operations
  • Improved management capabilities, supported by practical tools and methods for performance follow-up
  • Clearer roles and responsibilities, enabling more consistent execution throughout the organisation

As a result, the company now operates on a stronger operational foundation with improved coordination, clearer decision-making structures and enhanced management capabilities. The organisation is well positioned to sustain and further develop its operational performance in support of its long-term growth ambitions.om downstream processes, resulted in a total annualised improvement of €1.75 million, attributable to this single site alone.
